DESCRIPTION
High fire slip-cast stoneware incense burners evoke the shapes of minarets, the visual focal points for the call to prayer. The Qutub Meenar in Delhi built in 1193 and now a UNESCO world heritage site has a gentle curve inward at the top of the Minaret. This is echoed in openings for holding incense and allowing fragrance to spread around as a call to the senses. The collection encompasses the Qutub, Jhoolta and Babri Meenar incense burners, a tribute to great architecture.
